Frequently asked questions
Please read this FAQ before emailing support. Most license, plan, diagram, and visibility questions are answered here.
1. Before you contact support
Use this page first. Email support only if the answer is still missing — that keeps replies faster for everyone.
2. Where do I activate my license?
Activation happens on the Unframed Bit thank-you page (not inside Payhip). The header support icon opens this FAQ; the activation link is below.
- Find the license key in your Payhip order email.
- Open /payments/thank-you (or use the button below).
- Sign in with your applicant account, enter the key, and activate.
3. Where is my license key?
Payhip sends the license key in the order confirmation email. Check spam/junk folders if it is missing. You do not need a GitHub username at Payhip checkout.
4. Can I gift a plan?
Yes. The recipient signs in with their own applicant account and enters the unused license key from the Payhip email on the activation page.
5. I paid, but the plan is not active
Webhooks may unlock the plan automatically. If not, enter the license key on /payments/thank-you, then check Pricing → manage plan. Still stuck? Email support with order ID and product name.
6. I have Young Professional. What happens if I switch to Professional?
You can upgrade from Young Professional to Professional at the full list price. After successful Professional settlement, a new Professional billing period starts immediately.
- Unused Young Professional time is not credited onto or stacked with the new Professional period.
- Career and GitHub history unlock to the full retained history on Professional.
- Start the upgrade under Pricing → manage plan when Professional checkout is available.
7. Can I switch from Professional back to Young Professional?
No — not as self-service. After payment, the plan is fixed to Professional. Switching back to Young Professional or Free is not available in the app. Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
8. Why do my diagrams only show recent years in detail, while education stays longer?
On Free and Young Professional, job/career bars are limited by plan. Education and formation bars stay visible when the entry is recognised as formation (structured kind, or wording like university / PhD / Studium). Unrecognised old job entries are dropped.
- Free: about the last 1 year for career/job and GitHub diagrams. Dense matrix, language Gantt, and interactive career Gantt stay locked.
- Young Professional: job/career history about the last 3 years; recognised education/formation (any age) stays visible. GitHub diagrams about 3 years.
- Professional: full retained career and GitHub history.
9. Who can see my profile, and when?
Nothing public is shown until you publish your candidate profile. You control audiences in Visibility / public-profile settings and can revoke publication anytime.
- Anonymous visitors with your link or QR see only what you marked public.
- Authenticated recruiters can see additional fields and diagrams where your settings allow it.
- Paid recruiter search by name or email works only if discoverability is on (default off) and the profile is published.
10. Can I create the diagram in several languages?
The chart data is the same for everyone. UI labels follow the site language (language switcher). Profile notes can be stored in multiple languages with a default language; empty translations fall back to that default. You do not generate separate diagram files per language.
11. Why are my GitHub diagrams empty or incomplete?
GitHub diagrams need repo consent and the Unframed Stats GitHub App installed on the accounts or organisations you want to show. Without that, charts stay empty or limited. After install, Free still shows only about the last year of GitHub history.
12. Still need help?
If this FAQ did not help, email support and include: Payhip order ID, purchase email, product name, and your Unframed login / GitHub username.
